2019: “Our voice, a shield against hate speech” – Terms and Conditions

The Competition is aimed at Primary and Secondary Education schools in Greece and Cyprus.

 

The radio message (spot) must be up to 1 minute and 30 seconds long.

The song must be original and have a duration of up to 3 minutes.

 

  • The participation of students in the competition does not have any financial burden for the students or the school, it is optional and the consent of parents and guardians is required for their participation.

  • Before sending the entry (radio message or song), school teachers must have received from those in charge of the students Responsible Declarations for the active involvement of their children in the process of collective creation in a school context for this Competition, which must explicitly state that they accept the publication of the collective work of the school radio/music group on European School Radio, in accordance with the terms of the announcement.

  • When sending the entry (radio message or song), teachers will need to indicate on the submission form their role and degree of involvement in the creation process.

  • Participation in the Competition does NOT require your physical presence at the Festival.

  • Schools wishing to participate will need to register with European School Radio via the platform. www.europeanschoolradio.eu.  For registration, please consult Participation Guide.

  • Each school may submit up to two (2) entries, in one or both categories.

  • Entries must be original and not have been submitted to another competition.

  • The creation of messages and songs can be carried out either within the timetable for Primary and Secondary Education, within the framework of cross-curricular activities in the subjects of each level and in the respective school activity programs (Primary) or outside the timetable, within the framework of activities related to the respective school activity programs of Secondary schools.

  • The songs and messages should be created by students or mainly by students. We suggest that teachers have a stimulating role in the creative process, in order to highlight student initiative.

  • The songs and messages can be in Greek or English.

  • The recitation and interpretation should be done by students of the school.

  • The audio content (radio message or song) must not contain the name of the school or any other identifier that refers to the identity of the participation.

  • It is noted that the organizers undertake the entire process of implementing the competition and will ensure the personal data-intellectual rights of the creators. In addition, it is stated that there will be no income for the organizers from the submitted projects (by marketing or advertising, etc.) and the use of the projects will be for educational purposes only. Finally, the Organizing Committee of the Competition will be responsible for the appointment of the Jury for the radio message category and the Jury for the song category and after the end of the Competition will proceed with evaluation procedures of the action with questionnaires for the participating teachers, students and members of the Jury Committees.

  • Any music can be used to create a radio message, but the broadcast can only be done by the online radio European School Radio, as the means of communication that announced the competition and has secured the copyright for the music broadcast. Therefore, the audio work cannot be posted on other platforms without the permission of the music, even for educational purposes.

  • By submitting the work by the school’s Head Teacher for the competition, the team of creators accepts that the work is their exclusive creation and is aware that it will be broadcast on the online radio European School Radio. The Head Teacher of the school confirms the receipt of Responsible Declarations from the parents or guardians of the students for their participation in the “Make It Heard 2019” competition. Sending the participation means that they have read and fully accept the above terms.

Optionally, upon submission, each entry may be accompanied by a logo or video clip.

Submission of entries will take place until February 28, 2019.
