Call for Jury Members

Podcast and Song Student Contest Make it Heard 2025 invites musicians, songwriters, singers, music producers, audio engineers, voice actors, radio & podcast producers,  teachers in the field of Media Education, public and private stakeholders across Europe and beyond to participate in the Contest’s Jury.

We are looking for professionals who care about children and youth and who can allocate a few hours of their time to listen and evaluate students’ submissions to the Contest. Professionals from Croatia, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Spain are especially encouraged to apply. 

In this year’s Contest, students are called to work together and harness their creativity by producing  a podcast or a song in a theme of their own choosing. Teachers/ educators can submit the students’ podcasts, from 7 to 10 minutes, and songs up to 4 minutes until January 17th, 2025.

Entries will be evaluated by participating schools and by two Jury Committees of professional members.

Up to three prizes will be awarded for each of the two submission categories (podcast, song) and each of the four student age groups (kindergarten to high school). Also, one Audience Award for each submission category will be announced through online voting.

Interested professionals can apply online via the Jury application form until December 20th, 2024. 

All applicants will be notified in the second week of January 2025, if they have a seat in the Jury for one of the submission categories. Jury members will then have about 2-3 weeks to cast their votes through an online system evaluating about 10 to 20 submissions each. 

All submissions, regardless of the results, will be broadcast on the European School Radio program.

Furthermore, students will be able to present their productions during the 9th European School Radio Festival 2025, which will be hosted in Sithonia Halkidiki in Greece from 9th to 12th of April 2025. 

The Podcasts’ Award Ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday 11th of April 2025 and the Songs’ Award Ceremony on Saturday 12th of April 2025.

Jury members are encouraged to participate in the 4-day Festival event and present one of the awards during the Ceremonies.

The Contest is organized by the Scientific Society European School Radio – The First Student Radio, Cyprus Pedagogical Institute – Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, the Educational Radio Television – Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, and the Greek National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication.
